Safety managers responsible for solo work
Give a lone worker a clear way to confirm safety or ask for help
A lone-worker process needs an agreed check-in time, someone responsible for noticing a missed response, and a way for the worker to escalate immediately. EAlert365 has check-ins, countdown safety timers, peer verification, and SOS reporting within the same workspace.
The operational problem
The gap between a missed response and action
A timer only helps if people understand what it means when it expires. Before using one for a task, decide who is expected to respond, when the worker should check in, and what the manager should do if the status is unresolved. In the app, the worker can start a safety timer and complete a check-in; peers and managers have separate safety views. A missed response should be treated as a prompt to follow your organization’s escalation plan.
A practical rollout
How to put this workflow to work
- 1
Define the task
Choose the period when the worker is alone and agree on the expected check-in or timer duration.
- 2
Confirm the route
Check that the worker can open the mobile experience and that the assigned manager or peer can see the relevant status.
- 3
Practice the exception
Run a controlled missed-check-in and SOS exercise so everyone knows when to call, escalate, or use local emergency services.
What to check
Use it with, not instead of, a safety procedure
Phone coverage, device power, location access, and notification delivery can vary. EAlert365 can queue a check-in when a device is offline, but a queued action is not confirmation that the server or a responder received it. Set a fallback contact method for work where a delayed message would be unsafe.
Common questions
Before your team relies on it
Does a timer automatically prove a worker is safe?
No. It records a time-bound task and response status. A human team still needs to act on an unresolved safety concern.
Can a colleague help verify safety?
The app includes peer verification. Configure and test who can perform that action for your workspace.
